SUN PROTECTION

Did you know that more people in the US purchase more  non-prescription sunglasses than people who purchase Contact lenses and Rx eye-wear combined!? That's a lot of people! Most people who buy sunglasses are focused on how they look, when really, they should be concerned about the coverage and protection in which the lens and frame can provide.
Fashion can play a key-role in the purchase of these frames... with all the designers and knock-off-designers out there it's hard to resist the haute temptations! There are an endless amount of styles and frame materials which can be used from metal, titanium, stainless steel  plastics, optyl ect. From aviators to wrap around... the most important factor is, guess what!? The lenses! Obviously what I want, is for people to have spectacular vision all day, everyday. For most people over the age of 40 +/- they know that having vision is crucial to maintaining daily sanity.
Whether it be prescription or non-prescription sun-wear, be conscious of  your lens decision. Look for Polarized lenses with impact resistant materials. Polarized reduces glare and reflection from surfaces such as: Water, sand, grass, concrete, windows and snow. Some manufacturers have even patented their lens materials to endure a series of impacting drop-ball tests to comply with ANSI (American National Standards Institute) safety standards. Durability and visual clarity are key components  in a good set of lenses.
Remember, when choosing a good set of lenses Please, don't think that the darker the lens the better, Actually if a lens is too dark it can have a reverse effect by dilating the pupil allowing more light to come in! Always look for the sticker on the lens certifying that the lenses are protected against  UVA & UVB.
Have a Beautiful day!
